RF Products
- Wireless communication
- Wide applications
- Scalability
- Cost efficiency when installation.
This technology is present in many areas, such as loss prevention.
Thanks to this technology retailers can detect and prevent unauthorized removal of items.
How do they work:
- Tags and labels: items fitted with RF tags or labels that emit a specific frequency.
- Detection gates: RF antennas, usually placed at store exits, create a detection zone.
- Signal detection: when an item with an active RF tag passes through the detection zone, the system identifies the tag’s signal.
- Alarm trigger: if the tag hasn’t been deactivated at checkout, an alarm sounds alerting staff to potential theft.
While both rely on radio frequencies, RFID adds advanced features like data storage and real-time tracking.
Some examples where this combination can be applicated:
- Retail: enhance inventory tracking and theft prevention by pairing RFID’s detailed data with RF-based EAS system
- Logistics: use RFID tags for tracking shipments while RF technology enables seamless communication across supply chains.
