
Controller (Full-time, 40 hrs/week)

Your role
As Controller, you are responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. You monitor and manage financial and operational strategy metrics, develop and maintain control systems to safeguard company assets, and ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
You validate data, prepare financial analyses, and support Management in evaluating business performance. You also assist managers in identifying and implementing value-adding improvements. You will lead the Finance department and report directly to the Director of Finance ALS Worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for Checkpoint Apparel Labeling Terborg (Actuals, Forecast, Budget).
- Full ownership of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Working Capital (local-, Canadian-, and tax GAAP).
- Ensure alignment between local results and global reporting.
- Oversee all financial transactions and accounting activities.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Perform Balance Sheet reviews.
- Manage Internal Controls / Audits (Bill 198), Dutch Statutory Audits and conduct financial analyses.
- Oversee tax management and compliance for the region.
- Responsible for Credit Management and Billing.
- Approve Capital expenditure and contracts.
- Monitor and control costs and expenses.
- Ensure financial practices comply with statutory legislation and regulations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structures, including:
- Restructuring accruals and expenses
- Warranty, inventory, and receivables reserves
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Serve as an active member of the Management Team, acting ethically and cost consciously.
- Ensuring that the operations related to the cost accounting of the company (product unit costs and average costs) are carried out within the framework of determined expense centers.
- Provide financial guidance to the Management Team and coordinate with regional and corporate experts in tax, treasury, risk management, accounting, and internal control.
- Lead financial analysis and scenario modeling for new business proposals and manage the approval process before proposals reach customers.
Education, knowledge and experience:
You are a strong match if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international and/or production environment.
- Experience in a senior finance role.
- Strong accounting expertise and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of local systems, MS Office, SAP, and Qlik Analytics.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
- English proficiency at minimum B2 level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of payroll administration (payroll taxes, WKR), experience with ADP iHCM is a plus.
