1. Determine Walmart product requirements

Walmart has provided ARC specification requirements based on department number and sub category.

To start, you can review the ARC general guidelines on RFID tag placement HERE

If you are unsure of placement, don’t worry, placement is determined based on your specific product, as well as the readibility of the tag on your product.

2. Select the inlay for your product

We have preselected the following inlays as they meet the ARC specifications Walmart requires.

These inlays come in the most common sizes and form factors for the products sold at Walmart and beyond.

4. Submit your samples

To qualify the RFID labeling of new products, the retailer you are working with may require a sample submission to Auburn University’s ARC Lab, through the ALEC Submission processs. The submission normally needs to be approved prior to the bulk production order is placed.

Why? – To ensure that RFID tags are able to meet or exceed the necessary levels of performance and quality (further information here)

How? – Submitting a minimum of 6 photos and 1 video for ALEC* as well as the ALEC submission form digitally sent. You can find this linked below:

Once submitted, make sure you print the PDF confirmation and ship your samples to Auburn RFID Lab:

5. Order for bulk production

Congratulations, ARC has approved your label submission!

That means you are ready to order the approved label format for your product.

How?
